It is also a well known fact that traveling helps to keep a person mentally young and makes it easier for them to adapt to new situations. There are many things that one needs to take care of when one is planning to travel in India. While travel baggage and electronic equipments are something that immediately comes to mind when one is packing for a trip, there is also the important consideration of the right kind of clothes that one should take when one is looking to travel in India. As India is mainly a tropical country, the weather in most of the states in India remains hot for almost the entire year. The heat can be quite scorching at times, with variable levels of humidity. Therefore unless you are planning to go to the Himalayas or regions that are located on the foothills of Himalayas, it is always better to carry clothes that offer optimum comfort in the hot tropical weather.

While men can always wear light, casual shirts when they are exploring different regions of India, for women, the best form of clothing for traveling purposes is certainly the salwar kameez. The salwar kameez is a three part suit that includes the salwar, the kameez and the dupatta. Lightweight and elegant, the salwar kameez outfits can provide women with the maximum comfort when they are traveling from one place to another. More often than not, women who are traveling need to move briskly with little resistance and therefore the best form of clothing for them can be the salwar kameez. Not only these clothing items helps a woman to stay cool at all times but they also make her look beautiful and classy.

For women who want to stock up with the finest quality salwar kameez outfits, these garments are available in a broad range of styles. Whether a woman wants to deck herself up in an Anarkali suit or any other style, there are literally hundreds of different products that she can choose from. Such factors have made salwar kameez the most widely worn dress for the Indian women while she is traveling. It is also the same reason for which garment manufacturers regularly design and create new collections that can appeal to fashion conscious women.

Anushka Shetty Looked as Princess Devasena in Baahubali 2 by wearing various types of Traditional wear

When Baahubali was released in 2015, it took the nation by storm with its excellent special effects, storyline, acting, sets and costumes. With the Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the movie series has gone where no other Indian production has ever done before. The grandeur of the various war scenes, high precision of the different sequences as well as the costumes of royal fashion has made a distinct impression on all moviegoers. The look of Princess Devasena has been a hot topic of discussion among fashion aficionados and it has set a major trend on how royal fashion should ideally look like.

Traditionally, when we think of an Indian princess or a lady from a royal family, we tend to think in the lines of clothes that do offer elegance and beauty but are also quite rigid and difficult to move in. However, in Baahubali, we see Anushka dress up as a princess without losing her natural flexibility and spiritedness. She has taken the concept of saree dressing simply to a completely new level. Her clothing was filled with traces of rich handloom fabrics as well as silk such as Paithani and Banarasi weaves. Even though the sarees are quite rich in their texture they have a serene beautiful fall that serves as a dream drape. Stylists who were responsible for creating the look of Princess Devasena made use of contrasting combinations which has helped in bringing out the overall richness in the blouses and sarees that were chosen for her.

Anushka Shetty as Princess Devasena in Baahubali 2
Prashanti Tipirneni was the dress designer for Anushka Shetty in Baahubali. She and her team took special care to pay utmost focus to each and every detail while creating the costumes of Princess Devasena. The young princess Devasena is seen in drapes and sarees of notably vivid hues that expresses the carefree spirit that is associated with younger age. The colors have been chosen with individual care so that they easily stand out from backgrounds. Each of the sarees that have been worn by Princess Devasena is a fabric of 12 yards that has been exclusively woven to set to drape. Each and every look that has been sported by Princess Devasena has been very carefully curated. The blue saree along with heavy jewelry used in the sequence when she goes with Baahubali has attained widespread popularity among women of this country. It clearly depicts the fabulous richness of the kingdom that she is coming from.

Another distinct element of the ensemble look of Princess Devasena was definitely her jewelry. The pieces of jewelry that were used in this movie for Princess Devasena were carefully chosen to give additional depth and resonance to the character. Since Devasena is a crown princess, she has been given the best feminine looking jewelry that would be in line with what any young girl would naturally want her pieces of jewelry to be. In each and every sequence, her jewelry plays a special part to determine her looks and social position.

While in the festive scenes we can see her in grand jewelry, in the hunting scenes she can be in rather simple jewelry. Compared to the stones, yellow gold has been used with more generosity. This is done to emphasize that in the southern parts of India, yellow gold is more readily preferred than polki and kundan which is used extensively in the north. More than 1500 pieces of jewelry were made exclusively for this movie. Some of these jewelry items include arm bands, waist bands, heavy neck pieces, toe rings, dangler earrings and jhumkis. Different jewelry pieces had unique functional aspects of their own.

8 things to not do when you wear a Handloom Saree

The first thing that you should never do when you wear a saree is tie it excessively low or excessively high. So, before you wear your saree you should definitely take a look at the mirror. You should have a clear idea as to where your petticoat should sit. You should focus on this irrespective of whether you are doing it yourself or getting it done by someone else. If you wear it too high then you would end up looking funny.

Not pinning it the right way
This is the second mistake that people make when they wear a handloom saree. You should never over-pin your saree as that will leave holes in same and if you do not pin it then it might even fall away just like that. The position of pin is very important. You should always secure the pallu and pleats of your saree with a pin.

Wearing too many accessories
When you are wearing a saree you need not wear all the jewellery that you call your own. In any case, a saree looks graceful. This means that there is no unwritten law that you would have to wear ornaments with it as well. This is applicable even if you are wearing a simple saree. Your jewellery should be in accordance with the embellishments that are there on your saree.

Mismatching the petticoat
You should always get the colour of the petticoat right. If your saree is a white one your petticoat must not be a pink one. You can be sure that if your wear the wrong-coloured petticoat your look shall be ruined for sure. It is very important that you get it absolutely right. It would make the whole thing look right and you will come off as a winner for sure.

Bollywood celebrities with Indian handloom sarees
Making a mistake with the blouse
Your saree is completed by the blouse. You may wish to follow trends popularized by celebrities such as Deepika Padukone but make sure that your blouse has been stitched properly in the first place. However, you also need to be sure of the fact that your tailor is confident of stitching such a piece for you. You should also be sure that the style of blouse will suit you.

Getting the length of the pallu right
Your pallu should be of the right length – not too short neither too long. You can be sure that both would look equally bad and you will not at all be comfortable with either one. If you do not wish this to happen then you should pre-pleat your saree before you start draping it. This way, you will have a proper idea of the length that your pallu needs to be.

Do not go for total colour coordination
There was a time when our heroines such as Sridevi wore everything in the same colour – their hot chiffon sarees, blouse, bangle, and eye makeup. Just like the respected actor of yesteryears this trend has now become antiquated and should strictly be avoided at all costs. Colour blocking has become the trend now. You can be sure that you would look dull if you wore red on red.

Mistakes in wearing footwear
Quite often it so happens that after wearing your sarees you remember that you may have to wear heels with them. This mistake is quite silly and it could have some serious ramifications as well. In case of sarees always wear the shoes first and then wear the clothes. Otherwise you could end up making a mistake with the length of the drapes.

You should also get your draping style right and pick the right fabric.

How to remove various types of stains from handwoven Silk sarees?

One of the first things that you need to in order to remove stains from handwoven silk sarees or any other kind of silk sarees for that matter is to identify the kind of stain that is there. Silk sarees can be worn by women for a wide variety of purposes – more often than not it is for celebratory purposes that these sarees are worn. This does not mean though that the sarees cannot be worn to work. No matter for what purpose you wear these sarees they are going to be soiled one way or the other to some or the other extent.

As far as removing the stains from these sarees is concerned it is always easier said than done. If your sarees happen to have additional elements such as sequins, beads, and embroidery the process only becomes even tougher. This is why the first thing that you need to do in this case is identify the kind of stain it is.

Removing the protein stains

Protein stains happen because of causes such as perspiration, deodorant, and blood. These stains happen to be the commonest as well. As far as materials such as silk are concerned these stains represent the toughest challenge. One of the many ways – these happen to be generally accepted in this regard as well – is to use a smallish amount of liquid detergent. In order to do this in an efficient manner you can use cotton buds so that the detergent is applied only on the affected area. You can leave the detergent on the saree for half an hour at the most and then wash it in cold water.

Taking care of your silk sarees
Removing the grease stains

Grease stains happen because of ingredients that are oil based in nature. Examples of such ingredients would include things such as butter, cooking oil, and margarine. Even cosmetic items such as lipstick can result in such stains as well. Make sure that you do not dampen the grease stains with detergent or water as that would end up damaging the material itself. Worse still, the stain would stay just the same. The best thing to do in this case would be to use a thin layer of talcum powder. It will draw out the grease effectively and lift it off the material. After that, you can use a soft brush to get rid the saree of the powder.

Removing tea and coffee stains

Tea and coffee stains are among the commonest members of their brethren. The worst part of these stains is that they spread at the rate of knots and if your saree happens to be light they would leave that indelible mark as well. You can effectively get rid of these stains by using vinegar. Just place the saree on a flat surface. Make a mixture of three tablespoons of water at room temperature and three tablespoons of white distilled vinegar. Then apply this mixture carefully with clean cloth or sponge. Just use the cloth or sponge to dab said area. Please refrain from rubbing it and continue till the stain has been removed. In case the stain in question is a stubborn one you should use pure vinegar rather than the diluted version of the same.

Removing nail polish

If you wish to remove nail polish stains from your silk saree you should use acetone. You can easily buy it from stores. At any rate, most of you know about the bottles that contain nail polish removers. It would just be as effective as acetone in this case. You can apply acetone on the affected area with a cotton bud and then just dab it. You would not need to scrub the saree to remove the nail polish.
