Refreshing the Handloom Industry - Odisha Saree Store

The custom of the looms takes its roots at the very beginning of Indian olden times. Today the handloom industry faces turn down due to various reasons ranging from the lack of skilled proficiency, noncompetitive market prices, outdated designs and lack of infrastructure and technology. Odisha Saree Store takes on this challenge to revive our heritage and extend its benefits to our rural women and men.

Our fundamental values stems from the very basis of our group. We are primarily committed to quality and to innovative design. Our dye house gives you all the colors of a rainbow and at our handloom workshops we weave a many of fabrics which become home textiles, garments and toys. Our local showrooms also house a beautiful variety of handicrafts inspired by India traditional sarees industries and modified to suit modern tastes and trends.

The Indian Ministry of Textile Development is partnering with some local clothing designers to re-introduce traditional handloom sarees into mainstream fashion.
A designer collection of handloom bridal sarees will debut in Odisha, the Date and Venue noted to be updated to run against the multi-million rupee Indian bridal imports.
India's brides spend anything from 1 to LKR 50000 on their wedding saree, but these are usually imported from Other Counties. Hand woven Indian saree have not been able to go through the bridal market.
The latest collection, though, adds glamour to the humble handloom featuring traditional designs and motifs for an unique Indian look.
"We have talented weavers but they are not well connected with the outside world. So they need inputs on design trends and fashions," said Player, a designer working with rural weavers.
